Introducing…Tiffany Page
Line-up: 23-year old Tiffany Page (vocals, guitar).
Origin: Crawley, Sussex.
Vibe: Snarling punk and bruised ballads; a combination of the grunge forces of Courtney Love and Shirley Manson with a contemporary side-order of Lissy Trullie. This Fender femme fatale uses electric licks and a Hynde-esque voice to perfection when creating her rebellious serving of rock ‘n’ roll. It soars and soothes and cracks around the edges, as spiky as it is seductive; infact you can almost picture Page curling her lip as she knocks out riffs with a perfect punk façade.
Influences: Queens of the Stone Age, Hole, L7, Babes In Toyland.
Sounds like: Chrissie Hynde, Lissy Trullie, Belinda Carlisle, Joan Jett.
Background: Born in London, Tiffany and her mother moved to Zimbabwe when she was one and lived there for five years before returning to North London.
After receiving her first guitar for her 14th birthday, Tiffany discovered the joys of American alternative rock – the first records she bought were by Nirvana, Pearl Jam and The Offspring. As soon as she had learnt how to play three rudimentary chords on her new acoustic she began writing songs.
“Discovering Hole was the start of my teenage angst years,” she says. “That led to L7 and Babes In Toyland… I loved how these girls could sing like men. It sounded like it hurt them. That’s how I wanted to be.”
Signed in February 2009, Tiffany has spent the summer in LA and London writing and recording her debut album. If last year was the year of female electro pop, Tiffany Page is set to make 2010 the year of strat wielding guitar-pop. Her mix of indie guitar, sultry vocals and an ability to write the perfect pop song is set to establish her as one of the hottest acts to emerge in 2010.
Listen: The first single ‘Walk Away Slow’ will be released in March 2010 by Mercury, with the debut album to follow next summer.
You can catch Tiffany supporting The Noisettes from February to April 2010.

Quite impressed with Tiffany Page – good spot zavvi. I’d say that there seems to also be a positive Stevie Wicks influences in the vocal however some of the slow bits sound a little like Shania Twain. Not quite so good. Anyone else think so – not very ‘Punk’ though?
Striking your blog seems. I like your original option and style which is definitely really important for me on the career and even routine. Thus say thanks to you for your writing, my honor to read your post.
